Larry Winston Hix

July 3, 1950 — July 31, 2018

Larry Winston “Yutahey” Hix, 68, born on July 3, 1950 in Batesville, Arkansas, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home in Spring, Texas, surrounded by his family on July 31, 2018.

Larry is survived by his wife Diana, daughters Kameron Hix, Jenifer Earnshaw, and Jenifer’s husband George Earnshaw along with their daughter Aspen Hix, stepson David Saha, and stepdaughter Christina Alaniz.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rachel and Wylie Hix, sisters, Nancy Jane Claxton and Billie Wolford, and brother, Richard Hix.

Larry was a loving father, grandfather, husband, uncle and a friend to all.  He worked as a produce manager/merchandiser for the majority of his life and retired at the age of 62.  He loved wrestling and watched it every week since he was a kid up to his last days. He loved horror movies (especially Zombie movies) and he loved all his animals, especially dog Hopper and cat Elliot.  He spent his free time going to the shooting range with his kids and granddaughter and making ammo with his stepson David. He had an extensive gun collection that included several antique guns.  He always missed his hometown of Batesville and wanted to spend eternity next to his mother Rachel, “Dachie”, and his brother Richard.  Larry’s infectious laugh and smile will be missed by many.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Qualls Batesville Funeral Service for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.

Graveside services will be Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Jimmy Don Bales officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

No visitation is planned.
