Lewis Madison McDoniel

Lewis Madison McDoniel, 81, of Batesville passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Jonesboro. He was born February 21, 1942 to Virgil McDoniel and Audie Lewallen. He enjoyed beekeeping and in his earlier years, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and J.C.; and two sisters, Martha and Dorothy.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Kathryn McDoniel of the home; two sons, Lewis "Bud" McDoniel Jr. and Jonathan Duncan (Mary Beth); two daughters, Martha McDoniel and Elizabeth Rogers Christian (Robert); a brother, Charles McDoniel (Pat). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Independence County Library, 267 E. Main St. Batesville, Arkansas 72501.
