Loren Wayne Parsley, 74, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 26, 2024 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born December 17, 1949 in Batesville to Willard and Irene (Foley) Parsley. He worked for many years at Stanley Wood Chevrolet and Future Fuel. Loren served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Ruddell Hill Baptist Church. He was also on the Newark Fire Department. He enjoyed his dog Tripp, NASCAR, mowing grass, keeping his vehicles clean, riding his side-by-side, helping people and telling jokes to make people laugh. Recently, Loren had a horse buggy restored that made his family very proud.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sharon Kay Parsley; and his brother, Donis Parsley.
He is survived by his wife, Tamra Parsley of the home; one daughter, Bridgett Huff of Newark, Arkansas; two brothers, Darrell Parsley (Shirley) of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas and Dean Parsley (Jone) of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas; one sister, Linda Morgan (Jerry) of El Dorado, Arkansas; one step son, Eli Powers (Lindsey) of Yellville, Arkansas; one step daughter, Michelle Young (Joe) of Batesville, Arkansas; one grandchild, Gracie Lauren Huff; four step grandchildren, Kolby Young, Kaleb Young, Glory Young and Nolan Powers; several nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City, Arkansas with Tyler Bramlett and Tracy Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark.
Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Don Stewart, David Coker, Danny Mullins, Ted Parr, Rylee Grubb and Kevin Weaver.
Honorary pallbearers are the Employees of Stanley Wood Chevrolet and Future Fuel, Tommy Garner, Bobby Davis, Jerry Brashers and Gary Leonard.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Khan and the Batesville Oncology crew.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ruddell Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
