The Honorable, Melvin “Pete” Moser, 67 of Sidney died Friday, July 26, 2019. He was born October 17, 1951 at Sidney, Arkansas to Thomas Hughes and Ola Florence Russ Moser. He was retired from the United States Postal Service with 35 years of service; was a U.S. Army Veteran and was currently serving as Mayor of Sidney. He was a member of the Sidney Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin Curtis Moser and Carl Wayne Moser and sister, Alma Lee Griffin.
Survivors include Janell Moser of O’Fallon, Missouri; daughters, Shelly Moser of Batesville, Jennifer Keith-Swift (Joe) and Jessica Moser-Reale both of O’Fallon, Missouri; son, James Helton of O’Fallon, Missouri; brother, Calvin Moser (Shelly) of Merritt Island, Florida; sisters, Sue Botts of St. Louis, Missouri, Jeanette Duke (Harley) of Batesville and Carol Stone (Jerry) of St. Peters, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sidney Baptist Church at Sidney with Bro. Bobby Sanders officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral home of Cave City.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Joe Swift, James Helton, Red Lassiter, Burton Duke, Reese Moser, Donald Perkey and Justin Davis.
Honorary pallbearers are Gavin Duke, Drew Hogan, Kevin Dodge, Bryce Crain and Scott Stone.
