Mildred Chisam Duncan, 82 of Southside passed away Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born August 18, 1939 in Rosie, Arkansas to William Clyde and Myrtle Alice Platt Chisam. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was Commander of the DAV Auxiliary in Pfeiffer for 14 years, a hospice volunteer for 2 years and served several years as a bingo volunteer for all the local nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Bert” Duncan; one brother, Edward Ray Chisam and one sister, Lena Faye Brumley.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Louise Duncan and Virginia Jimenez (Dave) both of Southside and Reta Gramling (Bill) of Marcella; four grandchildren, Millie Foster, Jason Elms (Amy), David Elms and Daryl Rodriguez; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Southside with Bro. Shawn McGaha and Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. Interment will be in the Egner Cemetery near Salado. Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
