Oretha Perkey

Oretha Perkey, 91, of Cave City passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in Batesville. She was born January 6, 1932 in Cave City to Samuel and Jewel Hutchison. She was a homemaker and egg gatherer. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved gardening, fishing and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 30 years, Arden Perkey; one son, Jerry Wayne Perkey; two brothers, Fred Hutchison and Raymond Hutchison; three sisters, Ruthel Shirely, Florene Goldman and Della Perkey.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Abernathy (Howard) of Cave City; five grandchildren, Daniel Johnson (Courtney), Ashley Pretty (Trenton), Amber Hobbs, Zack Abernathy (Destiny) and Charity Presnull (Braden); eleven great grandchildren, John Payton, Elizabeth Payton, Sarah Payton, Brooklyn Johnson, Addison Johnson, London Johnson, Aiden Hoffman, Reya Hoffman, Tanner Abernathy, Maverick Presnull and Oakley Presnull; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Skylynn, Haley, Stephanie, Halie, Henessey and Caring Hands Hospice.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel with Allen Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery located in Cave City.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers will be Roy Felts, Steve Stauffer, Ronnie Schultz, Brandon Schultz, Jeff Hobbs and Larry Coleman.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
