Robert Lee “Bob” Baker, 82 of Batesville died Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He was born November 22, 1935 at Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Edgar and Leona Baker. He was the owner/operator of Baker’s Towing Service in Batesville and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Southside. He enjoyed life and the people and things around him. He believed in doing things the right way as his ability to do so. He loved his work and he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son, Brian Baker (Melanie) of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; one daughter, Andrea Cole (Leo) of Springdale; four grandchildren, Quinn Baker, Ian Baker, Aiden Baker and Addison Cole and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Southside with Bro. Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Rowe, Bruce Kilpatrick, Roy Milligan, Gary Whorrall, Leo Branscum and Donnie Hubbard.
Honorary pallbearers are Clifford Craig, Quinn Baker and Ian Baker.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Independence County Humane Society.
