Roland Lee Carter, 75 of Batesville passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was born October 9, 1946 in Batesville, Arkansas to James “Jim” Carter and Ila Lou Finley Carter. He was a Disabled U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and a small engine repairman. He served his country in the 101st Airborne and also as a military policeman. He was a member of the Church of God and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing at church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carlston, Willis and Douglas Carter and three sisters, Eleanor Gladys Carter, Glenda Carter Cassonie and Lou Carter Marlin.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Carter of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Woods of Batesville; one sister, Janice Carter of Batesville; two grandsons, Colten Carter Woods and Jagger Lee Woods both of Batesville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Thursday, December 23, 2021at 2:00 p.m. at the Cave Creek Cemetery at Batesville with Bro. Bob Majors and Bro. Calvin Hardin officiating. Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Colten Woods, Jagger Woods, Chris Lewallen, Kirk Ratliff, Doug Smith and Lee Lawyer.
Honorary pallbearer is Max Mize.
