Rose Mary Lankford

Rose Mary Lankford, 76, of Evening Shade passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Mountain Home.  She was born July 5, 1946 in Pampa, Texas to John and Anna Stroup.  She was an author and a member of the St. Mary’s of the Mount Church in Horseshoe Bend. 

She enjoyed history, cooking and spending time with family.  She was a member of the Civil War Round Table, Sharp County Historical Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Charles Lankford, Sr; a son, James Joseph Lankford; a grandson, Henry Charles Lankford III as well as other children and grandchildren. 

Survivors include her husband, Peter DeWitt of the home; two sons, Henry Lankford (Dianne) and William Lankford (Teresa) as well as numerous other relatives.

Memorial Services will be on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s of the Mount Church in Horseshoe Bend.  Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery in Franklin.
