Rosie Breckenridge, 96 of Cave City died peacefully December 27, 2018. She was born November 1, 1922 in Los Angeles, California to her parents, Gaetano and Anna Rocca Maletta. She was a homemaker and a member of the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church of Cave City.
Always actively involved in the community, Mrs. Rosie served as a foster grandparent, a literacy tutor, a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, Girl Scout troop leader, and served with the Civil Air Patrol and Farm Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grant Clifford Breckenridge; her son, Brian Breckenridge; brothers, Ritchie, Jack, Frank and Guy Maletta; sister, Mary Maletta and three grandchildren, Katelyn Beams, Timothy Young and Matthew Blaze Young.
Survivors include two sons, Alan Breckenridge (Judy L.) of Cave City and Stephen Breckenridge (Beth) of Camarillo, California; two daughters, Judy Ann Miller (Bert) of Cave City and Nancy Young of Batesville; one sister, Margaret Edwards of Lancaster, California; one daughter-in-law, Judy E. Breckenridge of Cave City; 15 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Lewallen and Stephen Breckenridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Alan Breckenridge, Stephen Breckenridge, Ben Branch, Sam Young, Joe Young and Wendell Perkey.
Honorary pallbearers are Dale Wooldridge and Bert Miller.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Arkansas Children’s Hospital or your favorite charity.
