Roy Carthel McSpadden, 92 of Cave City died Monday, January 27, 2020. He was born October 7, 1927 in Cave City, Arkansas to Clarence and Ruby McSpadden. He was a retired cattle rancher and a member of First United Methodist Church in Cave City. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and former member of the Cave City Fire Department and Cave City School Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola Fayrene McSpadden; half brother, Dwight Leonard and sister, Mary Frances Fulbright.
Survivors include one son, Dan McSpadden (Isabel) of Madrid, Spain; two daughters, Ginger Edington (Stanley) of Reyno, Arkansas and Trudy Peden(John) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Kara Townsend, Carmen Edington, Jake Peden and Ben Peden; four great grandchildren, Sophia Townsend, Gracie Townsend, Finn Williams and Daphne Williams; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City with Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be John Peden, Jake Peden, Ben Peden, Jim McSpadden, Robert Dean Coles and Reid Womack.
Honorary pallbearers are Stanley Edington and Mickey McSpadden.
