Shirley (Hoover) White, 75 of Cherokee Village died Saturday, March 23, 2019. She was born March 4, 1944 in Caraway, Arkansas to John Alvie and Lula Alberta (Adams) Hoover. She was a homemaker and a member of Peaceful Harbor Church in Batesville. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a master seamstress and also loved to cook, sing, crochet and draw.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Michael Stratton and Melvin White; brothers, William Hoover, Dee Hoover and Jackie Hoover; sister, Joyce Janelle Hoover and grandson, Christopher Hamilton.
Survivors include son, Wally Varner (Debbie) of Batesville; daughters, Janelle Swan (Lyndell) of Oxford, Mona Otts, Joan Erwin and Susan Langston (Heath) all of Cherokee Village; brother, Johnnie Hoover (Ella) of Bolivar, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Wally Varner officiating. Burial will follow in the Weaver’s Chapel Cemetery located north of Batesville.
Visitation will be Monday, March 25, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lyndell Swan, Lenny Hoover, Chris Hoover, Rickey Hoover, Jeremy Hamilton and Jason Briley.
