Stanley Winfred Yancey, 80 of Melbourne died Saturday, October 27, 2018. He was born May 9, 1938 at Oxford, Arkansas to Huston Amon and Cassie Pearson Yancey. He was a retired barber and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Virgil Yancey, Noel Yancey, William “Joe” Yancey and Vance “Duane” Yancey; six sisters, Lola Flynn, Mildred Thomas, Clara Reynolds, Norma VanWinkle, Essie Duke, and Jeffie Lea Yancey.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lavona Croft Yancey of the home; two sons, Rick Yancey of Little Rock and Mike Yancey of Alexander; one daughter, Deborah Bales of Melbourne; one grandson, Wacey Bales of Melbourne; one sister, Cleffie Berry of Bartlett, Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Dennis Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Yeager Cemetery located at Needmore.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wacey Joe Bales, Bill Yancey, Edwin Ray Yancey, James Flynn, Bo Berry and Malcom Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Flynn, Gaylon VanWinkle, Raymond Dean Duke, Mark Yancey, Juney Smith, Randy Smith, Sonny Cole, Shelton McFarland and Mark Herrington.
