Sylvia Katherine Lovell

Sylvia Katherine Russell Lovell, 81, of Newark, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at her home.  She was born August 16, 1941 in Kennett, Missouri to Wilbur Russell and Alice Ozell Gray.  She was a retired secretary for the Batesville School District and a charter member of the Newark Southern Baptist Church.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, watching sports and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jim Lovell; a brother, George Russell and a sister, Roslind Russell-Skinner.

Survivors include two sons, Todd Lovell (Paula) and Keith Lovell both of Newark; a daughter, Selina “Sissy” Lovell-Heaslet; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 2:00PM at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Mitch Bell officiating.  

Inurnment will be private

Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 1:00PM until Service time at the funeral home.
