Thyda Francine (Fran) Almond is rejoicing in Heaven! She was 90-years young when she walked through those Pearly Gates on Monday, June 22, 2020. Before traveling to Heaven, she was a resident of Cave City Nursing Home. Fran was born on Friday, August 16, 1929 in Battles, Arkansas to Carl and Hazel Weaver Ford. In 1970, she married the love of her life, Homer Almond. Together, they started Almond Delivery Service in Alexander, Arkansas, which supported them into their retirement. Fran was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bryant.
Survivors include one sister, Carol Herrin; one son, Nick Passalaqua and wife, Karen Olmsted; one daughter Debbie and husband, Glen Sanders, one bonus daughter and son, Audrey and Charlie Armstrong; two step-daughters, Pat and husband Tom Bartlett, Carol and husband Mike Hurst, one step-daughter in-law Brenda Almond. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, one nephew, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Homer Almond.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Charlie Armstrong officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Honorary pallbearers are Jason Mead, Sam Mead, Glen Sanders, Stephen Flood, Justin Anderson, and Drew Armstrong.
