Vaughn D. Ruminer, 94 of Batesville died Monday, July 13, 2020. He was born April 3, 1926 in Batesville, Arkansas to Esco and Molly Walker Ruminer. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville, where he served as church treasurer for 18 years and taught the Men’s Sunday School Class for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran having served in Europe. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Gerry Ruminer and Michael Ruminer; three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Helen Smith Ruminer of the home; one son, Larry Ruminer of Prattville, Alabama; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Brenden Bishop, Ronnie Ruminer, Larry Crafton, Chris Caldwell, John Richardson and Jacob Blevens.
Honorary pallbearers are Doyle Clouse, Jimmy Morgan and Ronnie Melton.
