Viola Purifoy Ward

Viola Purifoy Ward departed this life on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the age of 101 years, 9
months and 7 days. Viola was born July 14, 1922 in Genoa, Arkansas. She was the fourth of ten
children of Lynch and Mary Purifoy. Viola enjoyed gardening, crocheting and caring for her
beloved animals.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, R.A. Ward; one son, Kelly
Ward; one granddaughter, Viola Renee Ward; two sisters and six brothers.

Viola is survived by one sister, Golden Stuckey of Bauxite, Arkansas; three daughters, Mary
Partridge (Lonnie) of Depew, Oklahoma, Becky Hoskins (Jerry) of Hallsville, Missouri and
Lynn Batson (David) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one son, Richard Ward (Laura) of Hondo,
Texas; eleven grandchildren, Janice Hudgins, Michael Partridge, Lori Heard, April Bagwell,
Corey Benton, Scott Hoskins, Mallory Tuttle, Jessi Yoder, Chad Ward, Ashlen Thomason and
Brady Batson; eighteen great grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren and numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Macedonia Cemetery
in Newark, Arkansas.

Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville, Arkansas.
