Vivian C. Martin

Vivian C. Martin passed away Thursday, March 31,  2022.  She was born November 15, 1927 in Brewton, Alabama to Chesley and Gussie (Dixon) Smith. She was a member of Eastside Southern Baptist Church in Cave City.

Granny was a proud, spunky little Alabama girl who loved to go “down home” and visit every chance she could.   Her family, extended and immediate, were everything to her. She loved to cook Sunday lunches, and to be honest, we certainly didn’t mind for her to do it either.  She’s was a true southern home-cookin master.  She loved going to church, listening to country gospel music, watching the Gaithers on TV, and also loved to watch Ray Stevens comedy shows, including the Mississippi Squirrel Revival.  

She was preceded in death by her momma and poppa;  her husband, Earl Martin; five brothers, Roby Smith, Louie Smith, Jim Smith, Walter Smith and Burns Smith;  three sisters, Maxine Autry, Irma Nichols, and Juanita Straughn.  

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Billy) Snow of Cave City;  two granddaughters, Cheryl (Anthony) Croslin of Cave City, and Christie (Jeff) Wyatt of Rosie; five great-grandchildren who were the lights of her life, Garrett Smith of Greenville, SC;  Shyanne Price of Bentonville;  Riley Anne Eschbach of Collierville, TN, Andrew Price of Cabot, and Jake Wyatt of Little Rock.  

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Bobby Sanders officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, April 4, 2022 from 6:00 until; 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Wyatt, Anthony Croslin, Garrett Smith, Andrew Price, Travis Snow and Jake Wyatt.

Honorary pallbearers are Zach Slagley and all her nephews.
