Vonda Kae Oberbeck

Vonda Kae (Simer)(Braim) Oberbeck “Granny Boo” of Saffell, AR departed this life September 8, 2019 in her home at the age of 53 years.

Vonda was born the daughter of Alan Simer and Margaret Jean (Crawford) Simer on October 6, 1965 in Salem, AR.

Vonda was an active member of Saffell Missionary Baptist Church and helped her husband Paul start Saffell Tent Ministries.

She was united in marriage on June 24, 2000 at Mammoth Springs State Park in Arkansas to Paul Oberbeck.

Vonda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Dale Robert Simer and Geraldine “Mama Dean”(Nally) Simer and maternal grandparents, Roy H. Crawford and Ellna (Kem) Crawford; her mother Margaret Jean Simer and nephew, Tyler Owen Simer.

Vonda is survived by her husband, Paul Oberbeck of the home; father, Alan Simer of Thayer, MO; father in law, Gene Oberbeck of Conway, MO; brothers, Danny Simer and wife Maggie of Mountain Home, AR and Scotty Simer of Thayer, MO; eight children, Anthony Braim and wife Felicea of Batesville, AR, Rachel (Braim) Smith of Saffell, AR, Justin Oberbeck and wife Hannah of Welcome, MN, Amanda Oberbeck of Ozark Acres, AR , Steven Oberbeck of Conway MO, Tiffany Cox and husband David of Cushman, AR, Joseph Paul Oberbeck and wife Brittany of Viola, AR; adopted kid Charlie Wallace of Saffell AR; twenty- five grandchildren, church family; uncles; aunts; cousins; nieces; nephews and dear friends.

Vonda loved serving God in her church, community, and home. She served on the Board of Directors for the Independence County United Way and was Executive Director of Ind. Co. United Way. She was a Rotary Board Member and received the Rotarian of the Year award. She was founding board member for Serenity House in Mountain Home, served as board member of Ind. County Family Violence Prevention, served as board member of Batesville Help and Hope, served as a Batesville Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and received the Ambassador of the Year Award.

Vonda’s smile and eternal love for everyone around her was her character. Her loving smile and eternal loving kindness will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Saffell Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Donnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln-Ward Cemetery located at Saffell with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Levi Hightower, Carter Oberbeck, Sam Simer, Evan Simer, Eric Simer and Isaac Simer.

Honorary pallbearers are Alan Simer, Eugene Oberbeck, Danny Simer and Scotty Simer.
