Rev. William Otis Harper Sr., 86 of Batesville passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021. He was born June 9, 1935 in Batesville, Arkansas to Price and Luiza McCurn Harper. He was retired from Ideal Baking Company and The City of Batesville. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Batesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willene Harper; two brothers, Frank Harper and Harold Harper and two grandsons, Terenzo Harper and William Dan Earl Cook.
Survivors include two sons, William Otis Harper Jr. (Valerie) and William Randolph Harper (Kim) both of Batesville; two daughters, Teresa Cook and Luiza “Lucy” Harper both of Batesville; one brother, W.L. Harper of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Iola Harper of Des Moines, Iowa; ten grandsons; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church in Batesville with Rev. L.A. Bland officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Visitation will be Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are The Deacons of Friendship Baptist Church: Tommy Harper Sr., Daniel Smith, Tony Avant, Sherman Rucker and Reco Neeley and his nephews, Charles Grant, Ralph Grant and Michael Grant.
